The inauguration & workshop of 'Women as One, Bangladesh Chapter' was held on 12 September 2019 at NHFH&RI. Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, Honorable Speaker, Bangladesh Parliament graced the occasion as chief guest. Aparajita Haque, Member of Parliament attended the program as special guest. National Professor Brig. (Rtd.) A Malik, Founder & President, National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh presided over the meeting. Professor Fazila-Tun-Nesa Malik, Convener of this forum delivered the key note paper. Dr. Fatema Begum, Member gave vote of thanks. About 250 female physicians, health workers & media personnel participated in the inauguration.
After the inauguration, a workshop was held. Different challenges face by women cardiologists in the workplace were discussed in the interactive session. More than fifty cardiologists attended in the workshop.
'Women as One, Bangladesh Chapter' was formed under the able leadership of Professor Fazila Malik. The aim of this forum is to create a congenial working atmosphere for the women cardiologist so that they can provide better service to the patients at the same time to make healthcare services easily accessible to the women cardiac patients.
‘Women as One’ is an international organization founded by Dr. Roxana Mehran and Dr. Marie Claude Morice, two internationally recognized leaders in cardiovascular care and research.
