A Scientific Seminar on ‘Device Therapy for Congenital Heart Diseases’ was held on 27 July 2017 at NHFH&RI. National Professor Brig (Rtd) A Malik presided over the session. Dr. Tawfiq Shahriar Huq, Associate Professor & Senior Consultant Cardiologist was the key-note speaker. More than 200 participants attended at the program.
National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute took initiative to start structural intervention to treat congenital heart diseases.
By the grace of Almighty, over the past two years 10 months the structural intervention team successfully completed more than 475 device closures for PDA, ASD, VSD cases. There are also cases of pulmonary & aortic valvuloplasty, atrial septostomy are done regularly.
