National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh

United Forum Against Tobacco (UFAT) and Bangladesh Cancer Society jointly going to organized a rally on 4th February 2016 (From National Museum to National Press Club at 07:30 am) and an awareness seminar and Voices of Tobacco Victims (VOTV) on 7th February 2016 at 10:00 am at National Press Club to observe World Cancer Day 2016. National Professor Brig (Rtd) Abdul Malik, Founder and President, National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh and Chairman, United Forum Against Tobacco (UFAT) grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Professor Abdul Awal Rizvi, Secretary General, National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh and Member, Executive Committee of Bangladesh Cancer Society welcome the participants. A Voices Of Tobacco Victims (VOTV) case with squamous cell cancer in the mouth cavity due prolong use of smokeless tobacco was presented in the seminar by Professor Golum Mohiuddin Faruque, Head, Department of Radiotherapy, Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka. Professor Sohel Reza Choudhury, H ead, Department of Epidemiology & Research, National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, delivered speech on current situation of tobacco control in Bangladesh. Dr Md Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, Vice President, SWACHIP, Professor Kamrul Hasan Khan, Vice-Chanchelor, BSMMU and Dr Badiuzzaman Dablu, Secretary, Health and Population, Bangladesh Awami League were present in the seminar as Special Guests. Professor Molla Obyadullah Banki, President, Bangladesh Cancer Society, chaired the seminar.
